|Belogorsk is a city in Crimea, Belogorsky district centre. Located on the river Biyuk-Karasu in the 42 km East from the capital of Crimea Simferopol. Through Belogorsk is a road connecting Simferopol with the Eastern Crimea. The population of 18,2 thousand people, 37% Russian, 28% of the Crimean Tatars, 24% of Ukrainians.

the City was founded in 1860 year. The historical name of the town is Karasubazar, translated from the Crimean Tatar means "the market Karasu". Karasu is a small river on which the city is located. Its name literally translates as black water.
